One great day

The few weeks before I gave birth were the longest weeks of my life. I tried everything in he books to get her here. But I knew she wouldn't come until she was ready. Well, unfortunately that day didn't come. On February 2nd I went to the hospital to be induced. As of 9am I was only a 1. I knew right then that it was going to be a long day. I had to get 3 gel shots to help ripen the cervix before they could give me pitocin. It wasn't until about 8pm that I started to have contractions. By 10pm I couldn't take anymore of it. I had an epidural and let me tell you, they ROCK! They checked me 20 minutes after that and I was an 8. That sounded a lot more promising. By midnight I was a 9. Almost there! The nurse checked me again at 1:30am and said it was time to call the doctor!! I was so close that they didn't want me to push until the doctor got there. Well she came and a little after 2am I started pushing. They had to do an episiotomy. Thankfully I didn't feel anything cause Michael said they did a pretty good job. After only 20 minutes of pushing, Hadlee Brooke arrived! February 3 at 2:27am our angel came. She weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces and was 21 inches. She was healthy and happy. I'll never forget the feeling I had when they put her in my arms. It was love at first sight. She was absolutely beautiful. I was so lucky to have such an easy pregnancy and then an easy labor and delivery! I definitely won't mind doing it again. We couldn't be happier to have her here!

Hadlee Brooke Hansen!

Well, we had our Doctors appointment today to find out what the sex of the baby was. IT'S A GIRL! We couldn't be happier. We would've loved the baby of course if it were a boy, but we had a feeling the whole time that it was girl. Her name will be Hadlee Brooke Hansen. She is healthy and gaining weight right on schedule. I had a 3D ultrasound and it was so cool to see every little finger and every little toe. I go in for a Fetal Echo-cardiogram in 2 weeks to make sure the baby doesn't have a heart defect like Michael. As of today I am 18 weeks and 1 days, so I have another 4 1/2 months to go. With the holidays coming up, it is going to go by so fast. I went out and finally bought maternity clothes yesterday and wore my first maternity outfit today. It was definitely a mommy outfit but I loved it! That's when it really hit me. I'm going to be a mommy! I'm leaving for Idaho tomorrow but when I get back I'll be posting baby pictures and Idaho pictures! More to come next week.

Our little bundle of joy

So I just got back from another doctors appointment. The doctor said things are absolutely wonderful with the baby!! We heard the heartbeat again. I love hearing it. It's crazy to hear it and know that you're carrying a child and soon this child will be with you. It's the greatest feeling in the world. I LOVE it. We find out on the 26th of this month what we're having! That's only 12 days away! And then we go to Idaho for a week the day after. Fun times ahead! I'll definitely let you know what we're having when we find out.

Idaho, YOU-da-hoe

FINALLY! Something to look forward besides the baby of course. In 3 weeks, we go up to Idaho for a family reunion, obviously on Michaels side. I was trying to figure out how we could justify spending the money to go right now when we should be saving for the baby. Yay for Christmas presents! Who said you can't have Christmas in August?! It'll be so great to see his family again. The reunion is 2 days and we'll be there for 7 so we'll get to spend some good, quality time with everyone. And I CANNOT wait to see Alice. Alice is Michaels aunt that lives in North Carolina. She is like the older sister I never had. We are ridiculously crazy when we're together and it's so fun. That's all for now!

The beginning of Happily Ever After...

Once Upon a time I made a life changing decision to move to Rexburg, Idaho. Moving there was going to be a new adventure full of excitement and challenges. Along the way a young man stole my heart. We started dating January 21st, were engaged April 11th and married on August 16th. Were coming up on our ONE year anniversary and our expecting our FIRST baby in January. Life is full of so many adventures but with my Best Friend by my side I cant wait to face them.
